12 Days of Inspiration-Day 4: Themes!

Now comes the fun part…brainstorming theme ideas!!

You can choose to go with the classic “Winter Wonderland” theme, or move in a different direction, and add a modern flare.

Consider the following theme ideas:

• Winter Wonderland-at night! Imagine a room filled with blue lighting set up to resemble a night out in the snow
• Night in the Gardens -Use branches filled with greenery and white flowers and light up the room with candles
• Nightmare before Christmas-you can design everything from your invitations, to your centre pieces, to your backdrop to resemble this theme!
• Traditional Christmas-Use reds and greens to brighten up your room. Use every element possible-candy canes, Christmas trees, etc. and give your venue an “I’ll be home for Christmas” feeling
• Crystalize Everything-This is similar to the Winter Wonderland idea, except you can fill the room with crystal and diamond objects, and use purple lighting!
• Candy Canes-Go with a red and white colour scheme. You can even have your bridesmaids wear striped dresses!
• Peacock Theme-I absolutely love this idea. Go with a teal, royal blue, and green colour scheme using feathers to create a Christmas tree, have Christmas bulbs laid out around the venue, and use peacock feathers in your invitations alongside a Christmas bulb ornament, etc.
• Vintage Christmas-Take the classic vintage look and add Christmas to it! You could also turn this into a “modern meets retro” theme

When it comes to coming up a theme, choose something that best represents you and your partner. Whether it is your favourite colour or your favourite setting, make sure that you shine through it.
